As part of the strategy proposals have been put forward to review the boundaries of deaneries and the role of the area deans. The briefing document can be found here: https://cofemanchester.contentfiles.net/media/documents/document/2019/07/Fit_for_Mission_Briefing_Document_July_2019_FINAL.pdf The implications of the proposals for Bury Deanery are significant, and worth consideration and reflection ahead of the Diocesan Synod vote in October – for this reason, the Deanery Synod meeting is being called at rather short notice.  The main item for discussion is naturally the proposals, but we will also reflect on how we can use the existing Deanery Synod most effectively to explore shared mission and discipleship during what may be the last year in its current form.
