Bible readings for May

bible reading

Here are the May 2025 Bible readings, which we’ll be using in St John and St Mark’s and Christ Church as we continue through Easter season.

The readings

Since we’re in Easter, the Acts of the Apostles brings us snapshots of the early church as they explore what it meant to be Christ-like people. The passages from Revelation give us words to describe the cosmic battle being fought on our behalf. The Gospel readings are from John, starting with Jesus appearing to the disciples when they’d gone back fishing after the resurrection – and then we look at earlier scenes in the life of Jesus that we get to revisit in the light of what is it come.

If you don’t have access to a Bible, then please follow this link to the Vanderbilt Divinity Library. It’s not always the same but it’s usually very close.

The May 2025 Bible readings include Psalm 67…

The nations called to praise God

To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

May God be gracious to us and bless us
    and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
that your way may be known upon earth,
    your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you.

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth. Selah
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you.

The earth has yielded its increase;
    God, our God, has blessed us.
May God continue to bless us;
    let all the ends of the earth revere him.
