Every 3rd Sunday will be a 'service of the word' which doesn't have Communion. If the month has 5 weeks then we have a joint service with Christ Church on the 5th Sunday, alternating venues. Once a quarter is a more informal Cafe Church in the hall. Includes Sunday School with the children with us at the start and end of the service. Followed by refreshments and a chance to chat. 12:15 pm: Pantomime rehearsals – Rehearsing for the St John and St Mark Pantomime which is to be held 16th-19th January. Rehearsals will mainly be in the hall but will switch to church when there are prior bookings. TODAY WILL BE IN CHURCH Exact times tba 12:15 pm: Quick PCC Meeting – To discuss charitable giving and parish share 12:30 pm: 4Louis - Christmas Fair – The Fair is from 2.30pm - 4.30pm 4Louis is a UK charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child. They also work to improve the care bereaved families receive from health care and other professionals. Unfortunately miscarriage or the death of a baby or child is not a rare occurrence. Every day in the UK around 15 babies die before, during or soon after birth. 1 in 4 pregnancies sadly end before they reach 12 weeks. When a baby dies bereaved parents can feel very isolated. They don’t usually know anyone else who has had a similar experience. Support from family and friends can sometimes fall away soon after a baby has died. 4Louis offer support to families in many ways. For example they provide memory boxes to hospitals free of charge for parents to make precious memories with their babies. This is often the only thing a bereaved parent leaves the hospital with. They also provide cuddle cots free of charge. These enable bereaved parents to spend time with their precious babies in the days after their loss. This is extremely important to bereaved families. They have also provided and upgraded bereavement suites in hospitals. These rooms are so important as if parents lose a baby in a hospital with no bereavement suite they are placed on the delivery suite where they are surrounded by people who have just given birth to healthy babies. This is absolutely devastating for them. Any money raised is extremely gratefully received and means so much to the families that the 4Louis charity supports. Thank you so much for supporting 4Louis. |
