4Louis is a UK charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child. They also work to improve the care that bereaved families receive from health care and other professionals.
To raise funds, 4Louis will be holding a Christmas Fair at St John with St Mark’s Hall from 2.30pm – 4.30pm on Sunday 2nd December.
Unfortunately miscarriage or the death of a baby or child is not a rare occurrence. Every day in the UK around 15 babies die before, during or soon after birth. 1 in 4 pregnancies sadly end before they reach 12 weeks.
When a baby dies bereaved parents can feel very isolated. They don’t usually know anyone else who has had a similar experience. Support from family and friends can sometimes fall away soon after a baby has died.
About 4Louis
4Louis offer support to families in many ways. For example they provide memory boxes to hospitals free of charge for parents to make precious memories with their babies. This is often the only thing a bereaved parent leaves the hospital with. They also provide cuddle cots free of charge. These enable bereaved parents to spend time with their precious babies in the days after their loss. This is extremely important to bereaved families. They have also provided and upgraded bereavement suites in hospitals. These rooms are so important as if parents lose a baby in a hospital with no bereavement suite they are placed on the delivery suite where they are surrounded by people who have just given birth to healthy babies. This is absolutely devastating for them.
Any money raised is extremely gratefully received and means so much to the families that the 4Louis charity supports. So please come and join us 2nd December.
Thank you so much for supporting 4Louis.
Congratulations to Gemma and team who raised £2500 on Sunday for 4Louis! A fabulous amount and we’re glad that we were able to provide you with a venue.
