In the December and January magazine there’s a tribute to our dear friend Meg Schofield and a great invitation to find out more about the person of Jesus.

The December 2022 Bible readings include wolves lying down with lambs, locusts and honey, desert blossoms and a young woman bearing a son.

December 2021 bible readings include messengers, John in the wilderness, rejoicing & Elizabeth’s hospitality to an unmarried, pregnant girl.

Christmas is not about turkey or tinsel. It’s about remembering that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Here are the December 2020 Bible readings. Voices in the wilderness, paths made straight, angels making announcements – a baby being born.

Our next Sunday@Seven service is December 29th in the hall at Christ Church Walmersley. The theme is ‘My time is in your hands’, which is taken from Psalm 31.

Sunday@Seven is an opportunity to sing and pray in a more informal setting than the usual Sunday and weekday church services. It’s led by Nigel Silvester, our Authorised Lay Minister and Cath Hilton.

In this bumper Christmas issue we have details of all the many services and events that we have going on. There’s a letter from Dave, about God “mucking in” with us. There are also appeals to help those who are homeless and some reflections on Advent, Christmas and Epiphany.

Our next Sunday@Seven service will be on December 30th. The theme is ‘Standing at the gate’.

This is a chance for more informal worship, prayer and meditation.

We’ll meet in the Back Room at Christ Church Hall. Brews and cake will be on hand!
