Afternoon Tea and Book Fair

Tea for two, three, four…?
A reminder that tomorrow, Saturday April 28th, we’ll be having an Afternoon Tea and Book Fair. This will be in the hall and Barritt Room from 2pm – 4pm.
So tea, coffee, dainty cakes and sandwiches – plus all the best china that we’ve been able to acquire! Many thanks to all who have donated.
We’ve pretty much sold all the tickets for the Afternoon tea itself. But there are one or two left and at just £4 each they are extremely good value. Please contact June Banks on 0797 0417 331 but you’ll need to be quick!
You can also just turn up on the day to have a brew and buy a cake. So please come along if you can.
Literacy Trust
In addition, there will be plenty of pre-loved books available to purchase – and you don’t need to have had the Tea to buy a book (but if you did both that would be wonderful)!
Some of these books were kindly left to us when Moorside Library closed recently. All proceeds from these ex Library books will go to The National Literacy Trust. The Trust works with schools and communities to give disadvantaged children the literacy skills to succeed in life.
Please go to our charities page for details of the other work that we support.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Looking forward to a lovely afternoon tea
Thanks Madge – i’ll have a word with the catering staff and make sure you get an extra slice!
Lovely afternoon tea can we do it again sometime
Really glad you enjoyed it Madge – and we got great feedback from others too. Yes, we’ll recover from this one and then start planning the next. We’ll be in touch about a new date.
Just to let everyone know that we raised £471 which was beyond our expectations. So many thanks to all who helped and to anyone who came along, spent some money and enjoyed the afternoon!
