We try to keep this Covid-19 guidance page updated as and when guidelines change from the Church of England.
However, please go to the Church of England site for the most recent information and for links to more online resources. Please also look at the Manchester Diocese website for more local advice.
New advice on the conduct of public worship has been added following the publication of Government guidance, with updated risk assessment, legal considerations and advice on opening church buildings to the public.
Read a press release from the House of Bishops following the announcement from the Prime Minister that public worship in church buildings can resume from July 4th.
Save lives
Whilst some Government Covid-19 guidance has been revised, it is still vital that the necessary hygiene and social distancing precautions are kept in place in order to protect the NHS and save lives.
The Bishops have called on the Church to “continue to pray, to love, to care for the vulnerable”.
We will be open for Private prayer on Wedneday’s 10am – 11am and Sunday’s 10am – 12 noon. Christ Church, will be open 10am – 11am on Thursday mornings and 10am – 12 noon on Sundays.
We will open for Public Worship from Sunday 12th July. Christ Church Walmersley will be at 10am and St John with St Mark 11am.
From that week, we also intend being open for worship on Wednesday morning at 10am and Thursday evening at 7.30pm.
If in doubt, please contact the Vicar on 0161 797 7652.
Please follow this link for our suggestions on prayer and worship at home.
