Our annual Benefice walk around the Boundary of the two Parishes will take place this year on Saturday 5th May.
As part of our response to ‘Setting God’s people free’, Café Church on 8th April 2018 looked at 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27 and considered what it meant to be the body of Christ
On Saturday April 28th we’ll be having an Afternoon Tea and Book Fair. This will be in the hall from 2pm – 4pm. Tea and coffee, dainty cakes and sandwiches – and all the best china that we can lay our hands on!
We remember that during the 1st World War, 123 men from the congregations of St John’s and St Mark’s churches in Bury gave their lives for their country. A truly shocking number. 5 of these took place in March 1918, 100 years ago this month. So it seemed fitting to share a little about them

The photo above is the interior of the old St John’s church, now no longer with us. The photo was taken in 1927. The church was on The Rock in Bury, approximately where Costa Coffee is now! You can still find some of the memorial stones, set within the nearby garden.
