Thinking of fostering?

Listen now

Currently Bury has a shortage of foster carers. Perhaps you’ve thought about it before but never taken it any further? Or maybe this is the first time that you’ve considered it?

The poster below gives you all the details that you need to take the next step. So, if you want to find out more then please contact Bury Council on 0800 9555 311 or visit their website:

There are also facebook and twitter pages if that’s more your thing!

In addition you can visit their website to find out more about adoption, supported lodgings and special guardianship.

What is fostering?

From the council website:

Fostering is caring for a child in a professional capacity. As a foster carer you will have lots of resilience to offer a loving secure, and safe environment to a child, sibling group, or young person.

You will be a valued member of our professional team; we will support you in your career to develop new skills and knowledge, and you will receive good financial remuneration. As a foster carer, you are self-employed working in a privileged position to help make a difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable children living in Bury.

Fostering is a challenging career, but offers tremendous job satisfaction seeing a child or young person grow in confidence and achieving academically, socially, and emotionally.

So, go on, take that next step…
