Show yourselves to be my disciples
Our next Sunday@Seven service is October 27th in the hall at Christ Church. The theme this time is ‘Show yourselves to be my disciples’, which is taken from John 15:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”Gospel of John 15:5-8
What is Sunday@Seven?
Sunday@Seven is an opportunity to sing and pray in a more informal setting than the usual Sunday and weekday church services. It’s led by Nigel Silvester, our Authorised Lay Minister (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), and Cath Hilton (backing vocals and keyboard), plus anyone else who has been volunteered on the night. It lasts around an hour (ish).
There will be an ‘open mic‘ spot for anyone who wants to share a thought for a minute or two, either prepared in advance or off-the-cuff.
Sunday@Seven is held on the last Sunday of every month. If you enjoy hymns old & (very) new then we’d love to see you! There are prayers and meditations. Plus a brew, cake and biscuits to keep you going.
We look forward to seeing you at ‘show yourselves to be my disciples’!
