There are also pieces from the Mothers’ Union, and the Scouts as well as a reflection from Nigel on how technology allowed us to keep in touch during lock-down – and needs to continue as part of our service to others.

This month we have Joseph being reconciled with his brothers, Jonah getting really annoyed, and Jesus telling stories about vineyards and sons not doing what they said they would.

Here’s our packed September 2019 magazine. There’s a lot going on in the Walmersley Benefice at the moment and you’ll find plenty of news about upcoming events. There are also articles from the Walking Group, Open Group and Mothers’ Union. But there’s space too for prayer and reflection – plus some celebratory photos (including the one above with Vivienne and Barry being photo-bombed by the Bishop).

This month’s scriptures include God’s promises to the children of Israel made in Deuteronomy and a selection of parables told by Jesus.

Our next Sunday@Seven service will be on September 30th. The theme is ‘Then sings my soul’.

This is our (slightly delayed) chance to sing some of your favourite hymns, songs and choruses. Nigel already has a very full list but please let him know in advance of any special requests.

This time we’ll be in The Barritt Room at St John with St Mark. And yes, surprisingly, it starts at 7pm.
