September 2021 Bible readings

Here are the September 2021 Bible readings which we will be using in church. Please make use of these readings and reflect on what they might be saying to you.

The readings

September’s readings include water in the wilderness, dogs and crumbs, a face of flint, a careful tongue, Jesus not being happy with Peter, Moses asking for help – and salt.

• Sept 5th – 14th after Trinity: Isaiah 35:4-7a; James 2:1-17; Mark 7:24-37;
• Sept 12th – 15th after Trinity: Isaiah 50:4-9a; James 3:1-12; Mark 8:27-38;
• Sept 19th – 16th after Trinity: Jeremiah 11:18-20; James 3:13-4:3,7-8a; Mark 9:30-37;
• Sept 26th – 17th after Trinity: Numbers 11:4-6,10-16,24-29; James 5:13-20; Mark 9:38-50;

Amongst the September 2021 Bible readings is this from the Psalms…

Psalm 19:7-14

The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the LORD are sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

But who can detect their errors? Clear me from hidden faults. Keep back your servant also from the insolent; do not let them have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
