When we pray
Listen now
|
Our next Sunday@Seven service will be on Sunday 29th March 2020 in the Barritt Room at St John with St Mark, Bury. The theme this time is ‘When we pray’ which is taken from the Tauren Wells song of the same name and from Matthew 6. Please come and join us if you can!
We loved this quote from Corrie Ten Boom: “Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tyre?”
What is Sunday@Seven?
Sunday@Seven is an opportunity to sing and pray in a more informal setting than the usual Sunday and weekday church services. It’s led by Nigel Silvester, one of our Authorised Lay Ministers (lead vocals and acoustic guitar) and Cath Hilton (backing vocals and keyboard), plus anyone else who has been ‘volunteered’ on the night. As the name suggests, it starts at 7pm. It lasts around an hour (ish).
There will be an ‘open mic‘ spot for anyone who wants to share a thought for a minute or two, either prepared in advance or off-the-cuff. In the past this has been anything from someone talking about a struggle that they were facing to another sharing a new song that they’d written.
Sunday@Seven is held on the last Sunday of every month. If you enjoy hymns old and new then we’d love to see you! There are prayers and meditations. Plus a brew, cake and biscuits to keep you going.
We really look forward to seeing you at ‘When we pray’!
