Here are the Bible readings that we will be using in church during May. In this Easter season we have readings from Acts rather than the Older Testament.
If you can’t be with us, or if you want to read the passages in advance, then here you go:
- May 5th: 3rd of Easter – Acts 9:1-6; Revelation 5:11-end; John 21:1-19
- May 12th: 4th of Easter – Acts 9:36-end; Revelation 7:9-end; John 10:22-30
- May 19th: 5th of Easter – Acts 11:1-18; Revelation 21:1-6; John 13:31-35
- May 26th: 6th of Easter – Acts 16:9-15; Revelation 21:10-22:5; John 5:1-9
Or you could play ‘spot the sermon’ – which passage is the preacher likely to preach on and what will they say?
If you don’t have access to a Bible then please follow this link to the Vanderbilt Divinity Library. Once there, press on the scripture reference that you want to read. It’s not always an exact match but most weeks are similar!
Love one another – John 13:31-35
31 When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
