Read moreWe’re returning to St Joseph’s Prayer Centre, Formby for our annual Retreat. This will be from Wednesday May 22nd to Friday May 24th 2019. The Prayer Centre is in a really lovely position, close to both the sandy beach and the National Trust Forest. The break is a mix of time spent together, plenty of personal space and trips out in the local area.

Read moreDuring December 2018 and January 2019 our Walmersley Road Walking Group were involved in two walks. In December we took the Metrolink to Manchester Victoria station and begun our walk back along sections of the Irwell Sculpture Trail. In January we explored the three reservoirs of Bolton: Jumbles, Wayoh and Turton & Entwistle.
Read moreThe British Red Cross will be holding a free 2 hour training course on ‘Helping adults at greater risks of falls’. Particularly appropriate with the weather as it is! This will be at St John’s Hall from 9.15am on Saturday 2nd February 2019. It’s a repeat of the course held in November.

Read more4Louis is a UK charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child. They also work to improve the care bereaved families receive from health care and other professionals.
To raise funds we will be holding a Christmas Fair at St John with St Mark’s Hall from 2.30pm – 4.30pm on Sunday 2nd December.

Whilst there we visited the monument to John Paul II who with the help of his ‘popemobile’ had taken mass there in 1982.

Read moreAs the name of the group suggests the evening is open to all. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month. It starts at 7.30pm and normally lasts just over an hour with a brew and a chat at the end.
One of the sessions is a Craft Night, hence the photo above. But most evenings are listening to speakers, either visitors or people from our own congregation.
