I called, you answered – S@S

|
Our next Sunday@Seven service is August 25th in the hall at Christ Church. The theme this time is ‘I called, you answered’, which is taken from the wonderful Psalm 138:
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
that it surpasses your fame.
When I called, you answered me;
you greatly emboldened me.
May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
when they hear what you have decreed.
May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
for the glory of the Lord is great.
Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
though lofty, he sees them from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
with your right hand you save me.
The Lord will vindicate me;
your love, Lord, endures forever—
do not abandon the works of your hands
What is Sunday@Seven?
Sunday@Seven is an opportunity to sing and pray in a more informal setting than the usual Sunday and weekday church services. It’s led by Nigel Silvester, our Authorised Lay Minister (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), and Cath Hilton (backing vocals and keyboard), plus anyone else who has been volunteered on the night. It lasts around an hour (ish).
There will be an ‘open mic‘ spot for anyone who wants to share a thought for a minute or two, either prepared in advance or off-the-cuff.
Sunday@Seven is held on the last Sunday of every month. If you enjoy hymns old & (very) new then we’d love to see you! There are prayers and meditations. Plus a brew, cake and biscuits to keep you going.
Special note: At the end of September, it’s coming up to 8 years since Nigel first became an ALM. So, please hold him in your prayers and thank God for his ministry.
We look forward to seeing you at ‘I called, you answered’!
